God Sustains

God Sustains

Lord, I cast my burdens on you knowing that you will sustain me. I cry out to you in thanksgiving that you care for me so. For you say, cast your burdens on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved (Psalm 55:22).

I find myself searching the world looking horizontally for fulfillment when in truth true joy and peace can only be found when I look to you. For you will supply every need of ours according to your riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. He withholds nothing from those who are blameless. (Psalm 84:11)

So why should I look left and right or to this person or to that when you satisfy the thirsty and fill the hungry with good things (Psalm 107:9).

You give peace (John 14:27) that the world cannot provide.

I will take great comfort in this promise knowing that you are faithful. Knowing you will establish me and guard me against the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

Lord keep me in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3) and help me keep my mind on you.

When I'm not sure what to do let me be reminded that, if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5) How my heart sings with the hope of your promise to meet every need Lord. Need for peace, need for wisdom, and a need for rest.

I know that I do not have to walk in darkness or in fear because you hold my right hand and say, "Fear not, I am the one who helps you." (Isaiah 41:13)

You are so good! Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. (Isaiah 12:2).

You are indeed my salvation, and in so the God of hope who fills me with all the joy and peace because I believe. (Isaiah 41:13)

Lord, even though I may encounter hard times I know you sustain me. I give thanks to you for holding my hand through it all. I will not fear.
